About a couple months ago, I purchased a big green back pack from a company in China. Because of its "heritage", and because I name everything that is important to me, I named it "Xing Li", which sounded like the name of a pretty Chinese girl. I thought that the name was appropriate for my bag, which is beautiful, and has a very intelligent design, if not the best materials and construction.
For a long time, I didn't know what these characters might have meant. But, today, I decided to look them up, and, wouldn't you know it, they mean: luggage.
I think it is remarkable that this double-pairing happened. I think it was just a coincidence, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that there is some deeper force at work...
