'By oneself the evil is done, and it is oneself who suffers: by oneself the evil is not done, and by one's Self one becomes pure. The pure and the impure come from oneself: no man can purify another.' — Buddha

He who masters himself is better than he who masters a whole army. —

'The one who has conquered himself is a far greater hero than he who has defeated a thousand times a thousand men.' — Buddha

'If a man should conquer in battle a thousand and a thousand more, and another man should conquer himself, his would be the greater victory, because the greatest victory is the victory over oneself; and neither the gods in heaven above nor the demons down below can turn into defeat the victory of such a man.' — Buddha

Difficult is the control of the senses. Difficult is the control of the mind. But for he who masters these challenges, all things are possible. —

'If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.' — Buddha

There is a certain quote out of the Dhammapada that fits right here, but I am having trouble finding it.
