I think the thing about the Psalms is that David- or whoever is the particular writer in the instance of the particular Psalm- is disappointed in his neighbors' superficiality. They judge the book by its cover, when they should be looking a little bit deeper. I feel the same way about my neighbors. It always hurts to be judged by your past, when they should be looking at the way you are behaving today. It takes a depth of perception and an awareness just to see a person for who they are today, they way they are acting today. All it takes is a superficial observer to say, oh, he's a criminal, oh, he has a criminal record, oh, let's just write im off. People are so willing to hurt you. They're so ready to be mean. They are mean. There are a lot of mean people in this world. They have no faith in God. They deny the law of Karma. I keep on saying Karma is real, Karma is real, and people say they get tired of hearin me say that, but they don't seem to grasp it. I'll keep on repeating it until they get it. They may say they know that, but they don't act like it. I don't think they really know it. And it's such a simple rule. I think all parents should preach this to their children. I am so sick of people. They look at the superficial appearances, and fail to look deeper. They think they're so perceptive- they have blue eyes- but they're not perceptive if you ask me, from the appearance of things. They lack knowledge of some of the more basic spiritual truths that you could find in the Bible, if you just looked. They act as if there are no consequences to their actions, like they can just do whatever the fuck they want, and there will be no consequences down the road. They should know that everything they do has consequences down the road. It's called your future. 'A fool committing wrong actions does not know that later he will be burned by his own deeds, like one burned by fire.' —The Dhammapada.
