QUIET SATAN.

QUIET SATAN.

God is love, Satan is hate; God is good, Satan is evil; God is virtue, Satan is sin; God is light, Satan is darkness; God is awareness, Satan is ignorance; God is cleanliness, Satan is filth; God is life, Satan is death.

Taoism teaches that you MUST sin a little bit, to get by. Everything in its right place, everything in the right proportion. Sin has its place in the world, but it must not be blown out of proportion. You must quiet it with goodness.

Seek love, seek goodness, seek virtue, seek light, seek awareness, seek cleanliness, seek life...

Quiet Satan.

You must put him in the right proportion. Satan he has his place in the world, although the Protestant and Episcopalian religions may say otherwise. Bad, sin, darkness, ignorance, dirtiness, and death all have their place in the world. They're all a part of the world, and you must counteract them in your own soul with the bad, sin, death, etc. in your OWN soul. You gotta be a little bit bad to get by: girls like bad boys; a shot of whiskey a day is good for your heart. You gotta sin just a little bit to get by; sometimes a lie is the best thing; you gotta be willin' to steal a few bases in order to win in baseball. You gotta have a little bit 'a darkness, to get by; darkness is necessary for sleep; you can't HAVE light without darkness! You gotta have some ignorance to get by; if you're too aware, it would be impossible to function in this world; there are some things that you would rather that you couldn't remember, some things that you wish you could UNsee- ignorance pays off- total awareness would be a curse, you would think, 'SOMEONE TURN OFF THE LIGHTS IN THIS ROOM!' You need to get a little bit dirty to get by in life; 'You got to take a little bit 'a dirt to keep what you love.' -Tonic; you must get your hands a little bit dirty in the field so that you can reap a harvest in the fall. Death is a part of this world, and it's a good thing that it is; death allows us a hiatus from life, a rest, a sleep in which to get our souls straightened out for the next life- without it we would go mad; the struldbruggs in Swift's Gulliver's Travels are immortal, and they go crazy from the unceasing-ness, the perpetual life that they experience, with its unending-ness, without a break, without a hiatus, without a rest!

You can't abolish Satan. Therefore you must just put him in the right proportion. The sin and the death have their places in this world; they must be admitted, but not out of proportion. You must accept satan as part of this world; he is part of God's plan. He is actually good, in the right proportion. Everything in moderation! In fact, to try to abolish him is what leads to a lot of the sin in this world! Some people let the sin get way out of proportion, it starts to overflow in their soul: these are the really bad people. You just gotta get it under control. It's that trying to abolish sin that actually leads to more sin in this world. In church, they preach the absolution of sins, the complete removal, uprooting and incinerating of sin, as if it can be completely nullified, cancelled, and denied. As if it can be defeated. But it is just this philosophy that leads to more sin this world. It must be put in its right proportion; it must be accepted and dealt with appropriately.

Girls don't like nice guys. They're the ones who try to say that sin can be abolished. Their view is unrealistic. They're the ones who try to ignore sin, and it becomes even bigger in their lives. They're blind to it. They do it because they have fallen into the trap of believing that sin can be defeated, that sin is the enemy, that it can be removed completely, that absolute and total light is possible. They must have heard it in church. It's an unrealistic philosophy. It leads to failure. Best to accept the reality of sin in this world, and incorporate it into your life. In the right proportion, of course.
