I had an insight: sometimes the things we suffer are by no fault of our own; sometimes stuff happens to us that is seemingly random, but it's important to realize that even though it seems random, it is not random. Sometimes things can be justified by the future. The past, present, and future are all 'simultaneously' coexistent- the future already exists! What is not justified by the past will be justified by the future! For example, I had a friend who was shot in cold blood for her money. I hardly believe she did anything in her past to deserve that, but I guarantee the quality of her future (in a future life) will justify the mercilessness of her death. When that happened, the future was instantaneously arranged in the form of a promise to justify it. The future can justify the present just like the present can justify the past.
I believe God does everything for a reason. What may have appeared random no longer appears so when you see the future events that follow it, giving it perspective, justifying it. For example, your family may be acting funny around you all December, and you get mad at them, then only to finally realize that all along they were doing it because they had had a special Christmas gift planned for you.
