Just how fragile the human heart is. It's amazing it lasts as long as it does.

Today as I woke up, I had a realization. Just how fragile the human heart is. It's amazing it lasts as long as it does: 65, 70, 100 (!) years. It must keep on beating, beating, that entire time. It's always in motion. It never stops. That's why I say it's amazing it lasts as long as it does: it must continue beating that entire time; from the moment it starts, til the moment it stops, maybe 100 years down the line, it beats constantly; it is in continuous motion even when you sleep, even when you are unconscious. It never takes a break. That is why it is so exceptional. It is remarkable.
