If you have a cat, you can see the important difference between "practicing" for the sake of getting better, and practicing simply for the sake of practicing.
Cats don't really think about the future; they don't do anything for the sake of deliberately improving or consciously adding to their mental abilities; they don't make plans. If they are gonna practice, it is for the sake of practicing itself. They do everything for the *right now*. They live in the moment.
They would not understand trying to get better at the guitar. They would just understand playing for the sake of enjoying it. They live in the moment, like I said.
What's the point of doing something if you are not enjoying it, right now? How would you enjoy it tomorrow, even when you're better, if you're not enjoying it, right now? What IS tomorrow, for that matter?
The point of playing is to play.
