Correcting an earlier mistake that stated that everything could be explained with reference to the past

One thing that I would like to correct from my earlier philosophical writings is the idea that everyone always gets what they deserve, with respect only to the past. This is a false idea. If everyone always got exactly what they deserved based off of past actions, everything could be explained by reference to the past. But the fact is that sometimes things happen that are not caused by anything in the past. Instead they happen with a connection to a promised outcome in the future.
