SLADE’S OWN PRAYER

Dear Lord God:

Please deliver me from every temptation.

Please deliver me from every evil.

Please put the right words into my mouth at all times, or else silence when I have nothing to say.

Please let me mind only my own behavior.

Please cure me of the disease of ego.

Please forgive me of all sin, absolve my guilt, and let me overcome my past regret.

Please prevent me from anxiously awaiting the future and from dwelling on the past; please remind me that the present is all we have.

Please help me to find the spirit of love within my own heart.

Please help me not to lie, but to be silent, or else tell the truth. 

Please let me listen only to Thee, and obey Thy commands.

Please let me forgive the others for their wrongs and remind them that I am sorry for my own.

And finally, please let me just give thanks for what I do have.
