I have been in Savannah for the past month.
I got most of the things that I wanted to get accomplished accomplished.
I hung out with my parents and helped them out around the house (threw trees felled by Hurricane Matthew onto the fire) / I met my nieces (my sister's daughters) for the first time, in Athens; my dad drove the car - a trip of 5 hours to get there, & 5 hours to get back / I saw my aunt Katharine, and talked about reincarnation / I saw my cat Volde (her brother Albus died last year while I was away on my journey) / I rode my best old bike around town, several times / I recorded some of my old songs on my old 8 track recorder / I met up with an old friend, helped her decorate her Christmas tree, and got laid (- cum) / I visited (all of) my grandparents' graves at Bonaventure Cemetery / I met a nice older friend twice for lunch, + her daughter / I visited the local music store, Ben Portman's, apologized for past transgressions, and, later, bought 2 sets of guitar strings / I bought a good new book from Barnes & Noble / I gave many of the books and CD's I had collected from the time I was about 15 until I was about 30 years old (dozens of books and CD's) away to Goodwill Industries.
All in all, I just tried to absorb the atmosphere in Savannah.
85% success rate.
Will be leaving for Boulder tomorrow...
Aww, this is rather heartwarming -- the visit to Portman's and the book and music donations in particular. I'm glad the atmosphere of Savannah has been mostly welcoming and immersive. Love you.
