I was standing in line at Country Day. I stepped behind Kate Duffy. I said, 'Kate what do you think the odds are that you're descended from Karl Marx?' And then Kate held out her hand as if to say, 'Don't pass in front of me in line,' but then I still got in front of Amanda Sullivan and Rick Culbreth. I held my hand up, and Rick slapped it. Then I held my hand up in an 'Okay' sign, with my thumb and my forefinger together, and he blew through the hole. Both of the girls giggled. He said, 'Why'd you do that, Slade?' I raised my eyebrows, and said, 'Why'd you do THAT?'
You could tell it was final exams week at Country Day because there were yellow carnations in glass jars lined up on all the desks. It was Richard Ernest Braithwaite's idea.
I was sitting down in math class about to take my final exam and one of the tasks was to transfer songs to an iPod.
