MY BELIEF ABOUT THE AFTERLIFE

I believe that after death, the soul sleeps through eternity—which I think must be cyclical, and a very, very long time—and is reincarnated. I believe that death is a perfect sleep for the soul where it feels nothing, yet experiences everything (In death, it’s ‘reabsorbed’ into the infinite ‘ocean’ of pure spirit—although the analogy is not perfect [the words ‘soul’ and ‘spirit’ aligning pretty well with the terms ‘Atman’ and ’Brahman’ in my mind]. Please see the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad, 4.3.23–32.). Thankfully for us—who would get very impatient if we had to pass CONSCIOUSLY through each new eternity awaiting the time of each new birth—we perfectly sleep through each new eternity; therefore, when one’s soul is reborn after each new death, it has just reawakened from a state of absolute rest, and is as ready as can be for its new body, and in fact, feels like no time at all has passed.
